Rural Wedding In Dubrovnik: Photo Gallery

Dubrovnik's popularity as a wedding destination is undoubted. Many couples travel to the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' to tie the knot each year and it's easy to understand why; sunny climate, a stunning old town as the perfect backdrop and delicious Croatian wines and cuisine to make for a memorable wedding breakfast.

While the Old Town and its immediate surrounding area are the most popular choices for a destination wedding in Dubrovnik, couples looking to plan their day shouldn't overlook the city's surrounding countryside. Take the Konavle region, south of Dubrovnik. Well known for its vineyards and sleepy villages, it's home to some idyllic wedding locations both in the countryside and by the sea.

Adriatic DMC was recently privileged to help a young couple organize their wedding in the picturesque surroundings of a Konavle village where witnessed by their closest friends and family, their nuptials took place at a charming and rustic family restaurant.

Following a site inspection, the couple was able to decide on the exact location for their ceremony – on the 'gumno' stone structure, encircled by their guests. All that remained was to finalize seating arrangements for the wedding breakfast and of course – menu tasting!

With all the practical details in place, (flower delivery, transfers to the venue, music booked), the big day finally arrived and our groom awaited his bride. The personal and intimate ceremony began with two cellists playing as the bride walked up the aisle.

The ceremony itself was performed by a licensed registrar in English and once the vows had been read and rings exchanged, it was time to toast the happy couple with a glass of local sparkling wine.

A delicious three-course meal was then served on the large terrace in front of the restaurant.

Beautiful table decorations of baby breath, Mediterranean greenery, and candles added to the romantic setting.

With a professional photographer to capture the special moments, the happy couple will have many dear memories to look back from a day filled with love in Dubrovnik's green countryside.
