A lover of languages, Matea is fluent in French and Russian and a qualified translator. With impressive work experience from the Belgian Embassy to Croatia and as a journalistic translator for BCMS, she transitioned to tourism because it offers dynamic work that is a window into foreign cultures. In her free time, you'll probably find her indulging her passion for one of the three P's: politics, philosophy, and psychology, or simply enjoying a novel. Of all the places Matea's visited on her travels, she says Ljubljana is her favorite city, followed by authentic Paris. She's not short on inspiration with a travel bucket list that includes Denmark, Andalusia, Sicily, Peru and Vietnam. Her top recommendation in Croatia? Istria, which she says is beautiful, has fantastic gastronomy and wines, interesting history, and crucially, is multilingual!
