Kopacki Rit Nature Park

One of the largest European wetlands, Kopacki Rit Nature Park hosts almost 300 bird species, 44 different types of fish and its trademark herds of deer among other animals. The park is located in Slavonia Region on the east of Croatia and covers 238 hectares of land along the crossing of Danube and Drava rivers.

Kopacki Rit Nature Park is a nature lover’s ideal day trip in the east of Croatia. Home to stunning and rare species like the black stork and the white tailed eagle, this is one of the premium bird watching areas in Croatia. The park includes a special Zoological Reserve, and is in itself a showcase of beautiful intact nature, diversity of waters, flora and fauna that attract visitors, experts and scientists alike.

The best way to see the park is on one of the guided tours that includes a boat ride through the zoological reserve, the 19th Century Tikves castle complex and thebio-ecological station. There are various educational trails in the park available as well, making it suitable for families.
