Located in the south west of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the left bank of the Neretva River, Hutovo Blato Nature Park and bird reserve is a must see for all outdoor enthusiasts. Only 12.5 miles away from the Adriatic Sea, and fed by the waters of Krupa River, Hutovo Blato is a unique water-rich Mediterranean marsh and a well preserved natural environment that is home for several hundred different varieties of flora and fauna. Hutovo Blato lies on one of bird migration routes from the North and Central Europe towards Asia and Africa, and since the area’s mild climate and vegetation provide for excellent habitat conditions for birds it is an important bird reserve.
This area has a long fisherman tradition, so fish and especially eel specialties are a must try while visiting. The area offers many outdoor activities like bird watching, photo-safaris, fishing and more.
