Among the most important Roman archeological sites in Croatia, Salona features preserved religious complexes, basilicas, and typical Roman monuments like city gates and walls, all dating in range from 1st century BC to 6th century. From one historic site to another, the journey continues to Trogir, A UNESCO protected isle city mere 30 minutes from Split. The entire walled city island is made of spectacular constructions of stone-houses, palaces and monasteries with narrow streets and alleys. Visit the highlight, the St. Lawrence Cathedral, which is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia.
