Leading regional destination management company Adriatic DMC has been awarded the Safe Travels Stamp by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). The Safe Travels stamp is awarded to businesses who have adopted health and hygiene global standardized protocols designed to help provide safe conditions for travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A 10-module online training course delivered by Travelife covers best practice and protocols for areas including personal protection, transportation, accommodation and restaurants during the pandemic. Adriatic DMC was eligible for the Covid-19 resilient training as a Travelife Certified company.
The certification is the second step by Adriatic DMC to standardize procedures across all business operations to create safer travel practices in order to adjust to the environment created by the pandemic. The company launched a full suite of COVID-19 protocols for its staff, suppliers and partners in July 2020 in both Croatian and English.
After completing the online training course, the company had to finish a Safe Travels checklist that includes four pillars:
Adriatic DMC operations director Ivan Gavranic said of the stamp: “It's important that we adjust to the new environment created by Covid-19 as a business in order to reassure partners and their clients that Croatia is a safe destination for a vacation in 2021. Following the WTTC's guidelines and best practices means that our procedures are standardized and partners can rest easy knowing that their clients will be taken care of from their arrival to their departure.
“We have been proactive since the outbreak of the pandemic in ensuring that our procedures respond to the changing situation and provide a safe environment for staff, suppliers, partners and tourists. We're ready to welcome our partners' clients to Croatia and the region and are looking forward to the start of the 2021 season. “
